MLC Announces Temporary Barging Facility Expected To Be In Use For Several Weeks In Ste. Genevieve
June 8, 2019Force Majeure Event Continues
June 25, 2019The communities where Mississippi Lime Company operates are more than simply the places where our businesses are located. They’re where our employees and their families live, go to school, make friends, raise their kids, go shopping, play sports and build their futures.
At all of the Mississippi Lime Company operations around the country, we are involved in our communities – giving back for the support they provide to our company, our employees and our families.
Our main facility is in Ste. Genevieve, MO– a beautiful, historic city that is a delight for history buffs, shoppers, nature lovers and antique hunters. It’s also where many of our employees and their families call home.
Giving back to the communities we are involved in
We’re involved in events like Pedal the Cause, a charity bike ride held each September to raise money for cancer research, and Ride to Survive, a running and cycling event to help fund the Ste. Genevieve Memorial Hospital Oncology Department.
MLC regularly donates food to the Ste. Genevieve Nutrition Center, and our employees participate as volunteer firefighters, support the Ste. Genevieve Sheriff’s office K-9 Fund, and work with the Steelworkers union on an annual blood drive.
Education is also a way we make a difference. Volunteers visit area schools to educate children about manufacturing and mining, with the help of our affable mascot Calvin Calcium. In 2017, our IT employees took time to volunteer at The Little Bit Foundation, which provides basic needs for children living in poverty. MLC also contributed to the Ste. Genevieve Museum Learning Center, earning naming rights for the mining exhibit room there.
In 2018, our Verona site hosted a holiday Angel Tree, where employees selected “angels” and purchased gifts from the wish list of area children in need.
In St. Louis, where our headquarters is located, we participated in the annual Biz Dash to raise money for the St. Louis Sports Commission, and our staff organized holiday raffles to raise money for Stray Rescue of Saint Louis and Shriners’ Hospital.
Mississippi Lime Company and our employees believe that giving back to the communities that support us is good business, plain and simple. It’s a way to say ‘thank you’ for all they do for us.
