Governor Parson Visits Mississippi Lime Plant In Ste. Genevieve, MO

Missouri Governor Mike Parson made his first visit to Mississippi Lime Company’s Ste. Genevieve production facility on Monday, October 8. The governor spent about an hour meeting with management and employees of Mississippi Lime. He also took part in a surface tour of the Company’s chemical manufacturing facility.

“We were honored to have Governor Parson tour our Ste. Genevieve plant,” said Mike Sheffield, General Manager of Mississippi Lime’s Ste. Genevieve production facility. “It’s important that the Governor be aware of our operation, which is the largest employer in Ste. Genevieve County.”

In addition to touring the facility, Governor Parson spent time discussing workforce development and the importance of preparing young men and women for the jobs available in Missouri. “Our administration is focused on ensuring that our next generation is prepared to meet the challenges of Missouri’s workforce,” said Governor Parson. “It’s important that we get this right in order to move Missouri forward.”

On hand for the Governor’s visit to Mississippi Lime Company were Missouri State Senator Gary Romine of Farmington, Ste. Genevieve Mayor Paul Hassler, Ste. Genevieve R-II School District Superintendent Dr. Julie Flieg and Mississippi Lime Community Advisory Panel members Dena Kreitler and Sandra Cabot, who helped arrange the visit.
